About Kayla Henley

Kayla Henley is a developmental editor and founder of Henley Ink: Book Development & Editing, where she helps authors shape their ideas into compelling, publication-ready manuscripts. With a BA in English and a Certificate in Publishing from the University of Denver and the Denver Publishing Institute, Kayla brings both craft expertise and an editorial eye attuned to structure, rhythm, and voice.

Since 2018, she has guided writers through every stage of the creative process—from early concept to completed manuscript—across genres that include memoir, narrative nonfiction, and literary fiction. At Henley Ink, her approach balances literary sensibility with precision and structure. She helps writers uncover the heart of their story, refine its architecture, and bring it to life with purpose and polish.

Kayla enjoys life in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, where she’s drawn to stories that explore mystery, endurance, and the human spirit—from haunting fiction and true crime to historical and survival narratives.
